The rigorous training programme of the Main Squad includes:
On-court training 13:00-16:00 Saturday and Sunday (half the squad trains at once), led by our captains
On-court training fortnightly 20:00-22:00 Tuesday (half the squad trains at once), led by our excellent coach Daniel Bates
Strength and conditioning training 16:30-17:30 Friday, led by a fitness instructor from the USC.
Additional optional off-peak sessions Monday, Thursday and Friday involving independent training and game practice.
Individual fitness training is expected.
BUCS matches are held on Wednesday afternoons, with local league matches in evenings throughout the week.
Now in its third year, the Development Squad will be continuing into the 2019/20 season, aimed at high-level college players who wish to take their game to the next level with drills, games and coaching from Main Squad members, all with feather shuttles. The Development Squad trains:
On-court training 11:00-13:00 Saturday, led by coaches from the Main Squad
Optional strength & conditioning training with the Main Squad 16:30-17:30 Friday, led by a fitness instructor from the USC.
All training takes place at the University of Cambridge Sports Centre (Google Maps).
